An important characteristic of the Lobolight ministry is that it isn't an event.  Our ministry is a rather comprehensive campus ministry without actually being fully a church.  We often describe ourselves as a fellowship of disciples of Jesus who enjoy growing together in Christ as we help each other be as effective for Him as we can be in all aspects of our post-highschool lives.  The ministry's largest gathering to facilitate that growth and fellowship happens on Thursday nights at 7:00 at the home base, the Christian Student Center, at 130 Girard Blvd. NE accross from UNM's Redondo dorm.  This semester, the focus of our studies in the way of our Lord, Christ Jesus, revolve around obvious realities of the world, life and ourslves that the world's powers don't wany anyone to think about, but that we can't afford to miss.

You are invited to join us as we look at these realities seriously and discover ways to live more stable, joyful, peaceful, difference-making lives together.  Join in the fun that surrounds and saturates the gathering.  Many meet at the facility early to enjoy dinner together.  Though some leave at the conclusion of planned activities to go study for classes, most fraternize together for a long time, playing ping pong, making music, figuring out invented games, being rowdy, and generally sharing life at a deep level.  They come back week after week to fill up with more.  Fortunately, these people are humble and welcoming toward the fresh soul who drops in to receive a blessing, so everyone who comes seems to feel safe and valued.

It seems as though the meeting never unfolds the same way twice in a row as we vary the way we watch and listen to Jesus.  Whatever happens, though, we are always well prepared.  The experience is always approachable and understandable even for someone who hasn't really studied Jesus before, so feel fee to invite anyone.  All find it intriguing and engaging.
